SecureLink VSN+ Application — Privacy Policy
Applies to: the SecureLink VSN+ client applications for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows, and Android (each, the “App”).
Provider: SecureLink Networks Limited (“SecureLink”, “we”, “us”, “our”), Level 10, 179 Elizabeth Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Summary (please read)
The SecureLink VSN+ App is a VPN / secure connectivity client. Its only purpose is to authenticate you and establish an encrypted connection to the VSN+ network service that your organisation, your managed service provider (MSP), or SecureLink operates.
In plain terms:
-
We collect only the limited information needed to sign you in, register your device, connect you to the correct service, and keep that connection working.
-
We do not monitor, read, log, record, or store the contents of your internet traffic or browsing while you use the VPN.
-
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose.
-
The App contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no in-app purchases.
-
You are asked to consent to this data collection on a screen inside the App, before any data is collected or transmitted. If you do not consent, the App collects nothing and does not proceed.
This policy applies uniformly across all versions of the App (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows, and Android).
2. Who is responsible for your data
SecureLink Networks Limited is the entity that provides the App.
Because VSN+ is a multi-tenant platform, the VSN+ service you connect to may be operated by:
-
SecureLink (where SecureLink hosts the service directly);
-
your own organisation (where your employer or institution runs its own VSN+ deployment); or
-
a managed service provider (MSP) who operates VSN+ on behalf of your organisation.
Where your organisation or an MSP operates the VSN+ service, that entity is the controller of the account and configuration data held on its own deployment, and its own privacy notice may also apply to your use of that service. This policy describes how the App itself handles data. If you obtained access through your employer, your MSP, or a bundled product (for example, a telecommunications provider), their terms may also govern your use.
3. Information the App collects
The App collects only the following categories of data, each for a specific operational purpose:
What the App does NOT collect:
-
We do not inspect, read, capture, log, or store the contents of your network traffic, the websites you visit, the applications you use, your DNS queries, or your messages while connected to the VPN. The VPN transports that traffic to your organisation’s network according to its policy; the App does not record it.
-
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data.
-
The App contains no advertising identifiers, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above only to:
-
Authenticate you and authorise your access to the VSN+ service;
-
Discover and connect the App to the correct VSN+ orchestrator for your account;
-
Register your device and apply your organisation’s access and device-group policies;
-
Establish, maintain, and restore your secure VPN connection;
-
Diagnose problems, maintain reliability, and secure the service against misuse; and
-
Provide customer and technical support.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, behavioural tracking, automated decision-making with legal effect, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the VPN service you have signed up for.
5. Consent
Before the App collects or transmits any data, it presents an in-App consent screen that clearly describes what is collected and how it is used. No data is collected or sent from your device until you give explicit consent. If you decline, the App collects nothing and does not proceed. You may withdraw consent at any time by declining in the App, signing out, or uninstalling the App (see Section 10).
6. Legal bases for processing (where applicable)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:
-
Performance of a contract / provision of a service — to deliver the connectivity you (or your organisation) requested;
-
Consent — which you provide in-App before any collection, and may withdraw;
-
Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the service, balanced against your rights.
7. How we share information — and how we do NOT
We never sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose. We make this commitment expressly and it is a core principle of this policy.
Your data is transmitted only to the VSN+ service that authenticates and serves your account — that is, to the VSN+ orchestrator operated by SecureLink, your organisation, or your MSP, as applicable — solely to deliver the connectivity you signed up for.
We may disclose information only in these limited circumstances:
-
To the operator of your VSN+ service (SecureLink, your organisation, or your MSP), as necessary to provide the service;
-
To service providers / sub-processors who host or support the VSN+ infrastructure strictly on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and only to deliver the service (never for their own purposes);
-
Where required by law — to comply with a valid legal obligation, court order, or lawful request from a competent authority; or
-
To protect rights and safety — where necessary to protect the security of the service, our users, or the public, or to enforce our terms.
We do not provide your data to advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics companies.
8. International transfers and storage
Your account and connection data are stored on the infrastructure of the VSN+ service you connect to, which — depending on the deployment — may be hosted by SecureLink, by your organisation, or by an MSP, and may be located in Australia, in your own country, or in another jurisdiction. Where data is transferred internationally, we (and the operator of your service) apply appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection laws.
9. Data retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and for the legitimate and legal purposes described in this policy:
-
Account, device, and connection data are retained while your account or device remains active on the VSN+ service, and are removed or de-associated when your device is de-registered, your access is revoked, or your account is deleted.
-
Diagnostic and log data are retained for a limited period for operational, security, and support purposes, then deleted or aggregated.
The operator of your VSN+ service (your organisation or MSP, where applicable) may set its own retention periods for data held on its deployment.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the Australian Privacy Act, the EU/UK GDPR, and similar laws), you may have the right to:
-
Access the personal data we hold about you;
-
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
-
Delete your data (“right to erasure”);
-
Restrict or object to certain processing;
-
Withdraw consent at any time;
-
Portability of certain data; and
-
Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.
How to exercise these rights: contact us using the details in Section 14. If your service is operated by your organisation or MSP, you may also need to contact them, as they control the data held on their deployment. You can also withdraw consent directly by declining in the App, signing out, or uninstalling the App.
11. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including:
-
Encryption in transit — all communication between the App and the service uses strong, modern encryption (TLS, and IPSec/IKEv2 for the VPN tunnel);
-
Mandatory authentication — access always requires authentication; there is no anonymous or credential-free access;
-
Certificate-based mutual authentication and key rotation for the underlying connections; and
-
Least-privilege collection — we collect only the minimum data required to operate the service.
No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information.
12. Children’s privacy
The App is an enterprise/organisational connectivity tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Platform-specific notes
This policy applies uniformly to all versions of the App. In addition:
-
Apple (iOS, iPadOS, macOS): The App uses Apple’s Network Extension / NEVPNManager framework to provide VPN functionality. As stated above, we do not sell, use, or disclose your data to third parties for any purpose. The disclosure and consent required before any data collection are presented on a screen within the App.
-
Android (Google Play): The App uses the Android VPN service framework. Our data handling is described in this policy and reflected in the App’s Google Play Data safety disclosures.
-
Windows: The App uses the operating system’s standard secure-connection facilities. The same data-handling principles in this policy apply.
The App requests only the permissions necessary to establish and maintain a VPN connection.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes to what we collect or how we use it, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, ask for your renewed consent in the App before the changed collection takes effect.
